Girls of (almost) Summer

The weather is pretty nice in Seattle lately. Temperatures are warming up and we will probably be taking the girls places this summer so look forward to pictures of screaming babies outdoors :)

In diaper news, we recently switched the girls to stage 2 diapers (12-18lb). We actually have leftover diapers from the last stage thanks to all of our very thoughtful, loving and amazingly good looking friends and family. Both girls are smiling a lot and are just generally happy. Even Zoe has calmed down considerably from the last few weeks.

Happy Mothers Day,

Things at the gaggle house have been busy to say the least. Susan's sister and brother in law came to stay with us for a while. Not to mention her brother came for a weekend. We showed them around town and they were a huge help to us in taking care of the babies. Zoe and Sidney are growing very fast now. The latest stats:

Sidney
Length: 23 inches
Weight: 12lb 5oz

Zoe
Length: 23 inches
Weight: 12lb 4oz

As you can see Sidney passed Zoe in weight. That is because Sidney has figured out how to drink 5-6oz of formula at a time whereas Zoe is still getting only 2-3oz (she eats more often though). Currently Zoe is sick (congestion, cough, sneezing, etc.), but she doesn't have a fever thank goodness. Zoe has also changed her method of crying. She used to just yell, but now she wails with tears and everything. Both Zoe and Sidney are smiling a lot more now. Everything seems to amuse them. Zoe does seem to be upset more often than her sister though. We have discussions about who inherited who's personality :)

We are tired. Very, very tired. It has been helping that the girls have been sleeping mostly through the night. As I am writing this though, it is time for Sidney to go to sleep and she is staring at me with big, awake eyes. I can also hear Zoe crying at her mother and coughing a little.

To all of the other mothers out there, have the best mothers day ever. I know Susan is :)

All the best,
The Gaggle

Gigglewatch '09

Zoe and Sidney are six weeks old today. From what Susan and I have read, most babies will laugh for the first time between 6 and 12 weeks. Let us know who you think will laugh first using the poll at the right. Respond to this post and let us know why you think your pick will win.

Have fun :)

Updates and More Pictures

Things have been interesting and exhausting around here. Sidney got the all clear on her arm this last week, she's been moving it around like it had never bothered her at all. Now she just needs an MRI and we should be all done worrying about her.

Susan's sister is here, she is such a big help! Its nice to be able to get some more sleep and actually be functioning at work for a change :) Zoe and Sidney have been getting much stronger. Its starting to be a fight everytime we have to change a diaper. They can actually kick hard enough to hinder any progress you might be making trying to clean them up. Its quite impressive.

Their personalities are starting to show more as well. Zoe is feisty and demanding and Sidney is calm and patient. Go ahead and try to tell who is who in the last two pictures below :)

Our best wishes to all of you.
