Holy Cow, has it been Six Months??

As many of you may have noticed, six months have passed since Sidney and Zoe were born.  At six months they are crawling (sort of), playing like crazy, babbling, and very very very busy.  They have said Mama (but it was more like “Mamamamamamamama…”).  They are enjoying pureed food now, bananas are a BIG hit.

Things with the parents Grubb are great as well.  We are also very very very busy.  Some nights we feel like crawling (sort of), and when we talk it sounds like babble.  So the entire Gaggle is progressing normally according to our pediatrician.

Speaking of pediatricians, we’ve had a weigh-in:

Sidney – 20lb 2oz (95+%), 27in (90%)

Zoe – 18lb 6.5oz (90-95%), 26.75in (90%)

Yes, they’re big, healthy girls.

Five Months Old

Don’t worry! We’ve had a talk with the girls and asked them to slow the growing down.  I assume drooling means “Yes Dad.”

As you can tell by the pictures, our girls are getting really big.  Susan and I agree that Zoe will probably skip crawling and go straight to walking.  Sidney loves to move around on her belly though, she has even managed to get everything in the right order once or twice and managed an “army crawl” for a few steps.

Their new toy is a Jumperoo.  This has become quite the crowd pleaser.  Sidney looks like she is doing a jig when she gets in it.

(I am knocking on wood loudly as I say this)  They are sleeping through the night five out of seven nights per week!

I hope these pictures make up for the infrequent posting.  Please enjoy.  If you want a thrill, go through the older basket pictures and check out how much they’ve grown… you’ll be amazed.

All the best,

The Gaggle

The Gaggle Wedding

Thank you for everyone who attended our wedding.  Unfortunately we could not invite everyone we wanted to due to limited space at our venue.  We treasure all of your friendships and for those who could not attend, thank you for your support.

We had only three weeks to pull this wedding off.  Considering the short timeframe for planning, everything went extremely well.  Everyone on our guest list showed up, the ceremony was spectacular (we only cracked up once), and the dinner was delicious.

The best man Samuel Rudolph made the trip from New York to be here (we even moved the date for him).  He gave a hilarious speech and even sang a couple of songs.  The Maid of Honor and Flower Girl were the awesome Mother/Daughter team of Dokhee Cho and Katie Dang.  Katie even helped serve cake later.  Frank Matousek served as a proxy for Susan’s Father and walked her down the aisle.

Zoe and Sidney stole the show with their crying.  It seemed as though everyone in the room had a turn in trying to calm them down.  They were back to normal on Monday.  We think it was a combination of itchy dresses and Mommy not looking or smelling the same as usual.

Our friend and officiator Glen Harris did an excellent job on the ceremony and in helping us plan everything.  His entire family got involved in pulling the wedding off on time and we could not have done it without their help.

Another one of our friends Liz Adams did a wonderful job on our wedding cake, really, you have to see it to believe it.  Peter Lewinsohn did a great job on photography (see for yourself below).  Last but not least Colleen Clancy was in charge of bouquets and flowers, which were beautiful.

Four Months – Baby Quirks

The Doc

The girls had a Doctor visit this last week.  They are huge now.  She said that both of them are doing great.

Sidney: Length 25in (75%), Weight 16lb 4oz (95%)

Zoe: Length 25.5in (90%), Weight 15lb (75%)

The Quirks

Zoe and Sidney are much more interactive lately.  From what we’ve been reading that’s one of the things to look forward to for four month olds.

Sidney has started to try and sit up in her bouncer.  This of course is a futile effort.  She can stay persistent for about 5 minutes before she gets really frustrated.  Her voice has gotten louder than her sister’s, so we don’t try and test the 5 minute sit up limit anymore.  She has begun to roll over as well.  Anytime she accomplishes some physical feat, she seems really proud of herself.

Zoe has a security blanket now (Picture 3).  Whenever we give it to her she smiles, tries to eat it, hugs it, and relaxes with it against her face (sometimes going to sleep).  She is rolling over like crazy and LOVES standing.  All we have to do is hold her for balance, she supports all of her weight.  She also talks nonstop (“Ahaaaahaaah”).

The Pictures

For those of you who can’t tell them apart yet, Zoe is on the left and Sidney on the right.  If their immense size hasn’t sunk in yet, take a look at the basket trying to collapse in Picture 2.
