Dragging and Cooing

The girls are always excited to try things that they are not that good at yet.  For instance, Zoe and Sidney love to stand up even though they can’t do it by themselves.  Also, they love to talk to us even though we can’t understand one another. 

This last week we got a little of both.  One day after I got home they were lying on the playmat facing each other and talking.  The reason this is exciting is before this point they never once acknowledged each others’ presence.  Even when we put them face to face, they would look elsewhere.  Maybe now they will begin to provide each other with entertainment and take a little pressure off of us.

The second video happened late one evening when everyone but Sidney was ready for bed.  Susan decided that it was time for Sidney to practice walking.  What we got instead was mostly Susan dragging Sidney along the floor, but very entertaining nonetheless. 

We don’t know what they’re going to do next, but we will keep you posted.

We Used to Speak to Adults (This is better :)

Sidney laughed a lot tonight when her Mommy came home.  She had laughed before, but not this many times in a row.  These girls really become vocal and happy whenever they see their Mom. :)

Did I mention that they get vocal?  Check out Zoe talking to Susan (this is a long video).  We have two really happy babies.

We don’t even remember what it was like when Zoe and Sidney weren’t around.  They are keeping us tired, busy and smiling constantly.  We’re loving every minute of it.

Zoe Rolls Over – The Video

I was getting in some “Belly Time” with Zoe after I got home until she got tired of it. I flipped her on her back and noticed that she might be ready for a rollover. It took just over two minutes of egging her on, but Zoe did finally roll over on Tuesday 6/16/2009 at 5:26pm. Now I just have to get Zoe to laugh and Sidney to roll over.

I was lucky this time to get the first rollover on video. We will have to see how it goes with catching more “Firsts.” You can keep up with all of them by subscribing to free email alerts (on the right). Thanks for watching.

Giggle Watch ‘09 is Over!

On Friday evening. Giggle Watch ended when Sidney smiled really big, breathed really heavily and found her voice all at the same time.  She laughed again yesterday evening at a friend’s party.  Online voting put Sidney ahead by only one vote, so the majority had it right. If the picture below is a little hard to read it says Sidney 8 (53%) and Zoe 7 (46%).

Zoe acknowledged Sidney’s victory cordially and signaled her intention to train ferociously for the upcoming walking and talking competitions.

Both competitors want to thank all of their fans for their love and support over the last few months. Both competitors requested that Daddy capture laughs from both of them on video to post here.  So although Giggle Watch ‘09 is over, the fun continues :)

Three Months (Plus)

The girls are doing great things like beginning to find their voice.  Sometimes we actually think they are carrying on conversations with us.  Recently we went to the mall for a few hours with the girls.  They seemed to like all the new things to look at.  They stayed pretty calm throughout the trip.

My Dad and Uncle came by a few weeks ago and stayed for a long weekend.  The babies really seemed to like them.  They are getting so heavy now that mommy had to get a brace on her wrist.

Giggle Watch Update:

No laughs yet, but I think were close.  They are both smiling really big smiles quite often and using their voice a lot.  A laugh should be coming any day now so if you haven’t voted, this could be your last chance.
