A Whole New Blog

Greetings everyone, remember in January when I said that we were still here? Better late than never I suppose. As I’m sure you can tell, the blog has undergone a redesign. The purpose of this redesign is to make everything simpler to read and use for those of you who are still sticking around after all these months. So much has been happening with the kids and us that I won’t have room to put it all in one post, but of course I must do what I can.  How about a summary?

Babies

Sidney is walking! She has been for about a month now. For a couple of weeks she’s not been walking like a penguin anymore, so that’s definitely a step in the right direction (pun intended). In the talking department Sidney likes to stick to “dada”, “mama” and “baba” for now at least. Were expecting her to start busting out with the words any time now.

Zoe is definitely trying to talk. She mimics us any chance she gets and has managed to say “tickle” (of course – that was her first word), “ball” and all the components of “I” “love” “you”, but she hasn’t put that sentence together yet. In the walking department she’s getting close. If you hold her hand and guide her around, you’ll notice that she’s not using her hand for balance, but more for confidence. Once she gets over her apprehension there will be no stopping her.

Parents

We just completed the Seattle Rock & Roll Half Marathon a few weeks ago. For me it was just a stepping stone to finishing my first full Marathon in Portland in October. Susan and the kids will even be there to cheer me on!

As you may have heard, I am employed again. I stopped working in February and started up again in April. Don’t let people fool you, the check you get from unemployment is not enough to freeload off of!

Susan is taking up baking as a hobby. I for one look forward to tasting all of her concoctions, whether they turn out the way she wanted them to or not. It has been a while since I have gotten to eat cake batter directly from the bowl… yummy!

Stay Tuned…

Well those are about all the updates I have time for right now. I will continue to update this blog, so do not dispair! Your subscription is not in vain! We’re just parents of busy and increasingly mobile twins, so give us a minute to wake up please :)

Included in the slideshow below (from my flickr account) you can find new baby pictures not previously published on this blog.

We’re Still Here – Promise :)

Hello Everyone… I know it has been a while (2 and a half months) since I’ve posted.  its my fault and I’m Sorry!  Click on the album link below to see all the fun we’ve been having.

One notable event since I’ve last written was the girls first Christmas.  We went to Leavenworth, WA to  get their picture taken with Santa.  It didn’t snow as we were hoping, so no pictures of babies in the snow :(

When Christmas morning rolled around the girls opened their presents.  That is to say, they tore the wrapping paper apart and a good while later noticed that there were things contained within the wrapping paper.

Since the New Year we’ve all been sick.  I even had to take Sidney to the ER.  We are still getting over it and the doctor tells us it could be a few more weeks.

Click on the album below to enjoy all the cuteness!

Its a new album style I’m trying out.  Leave me some comments and let me know how you like it.

Sincerely,

The Gaggle :)

The Chase Is On!

All is going well in the Grubb household.  Sidney and Zoe are now 7 months old and getting into all kinds of trouble… or at least having looks on their faces as though they’ve done something.

Sidney crawls everywhere.  She is a force that simply cannot be stopped anymore.  If she decides to crawl through a wall, I have a feeling she wouldn’t give up until she’s at least chewed through the drywall.  Its great fun chasing after her or trying to keep her from trying to eat her sister.

Occasionally Zoe looks like she might be ready to crawl, but then she just resorts back to swimming.  We have confidence that she’ll get tired of Sidney chasing her and find a way to run away.  Of course she could always decide to do what we always thought she would do… skip crawling altogether and just go straight to walking.

Its obvious that they have a great deal of affection for each other.  Zoe always smiles, squeals, and tries to touch Sidney’s face when she’s within range.  Sidney always smiles at Zoe, though when she touches Zoe, or anything for that matter she is not usually gentle.

Susan and I are also doing well.  This surprises some people we know because they tend to believe that children are a strain on a relationship.  We have definitely not experienced that yet.  If anything we have become a much tighter unit.

It will be Halloween soon and I know you’re all itching to see the girls in their costumes, but you’ll have to wait :)  To hold you over I’ve included a few pictures, including the obligatory basket pictures.  One of these days I’ll do a post that shows how big they’ve gotten in that basket.

Sidney Crawls!

The other day Sidney decided she wanted to eat the Jumperoo.  The problem was that she was across the blanket from it.  She managed to get the job done though.  After this video was taken she finished eating the Jumperoo.

Just to let everyone know, we are finishing the last box of Diapers from the baby showers.  Thank you to everyone for giving us such a large stash!  They are now size 4 and growing… HINT HINT HINT :)

Thanks for reading.

The State of the Gaggle Address (6 Months)

Zoe gives the State of the Gaggle Address for the first six months.  She speaks about issues which will affect the family in the next six months on behalf of herself, her parents and her twin sister Sidney.

Press kit available upon request.

Yes we can,

The Gaggle

Holy Cow, has it been Six Months??

As many of you may have noticed, six months have passed since Sidney and Zoe were born.  At six months they are crawling (sort of), playing like crazy, babbling, and very very very busy.  They have said Mama (but it was more like “Mamamamamamamama…”).  They are enjoying pureed food now, bananas are a BIG hit.

Things with the parents Grubb are great as well.  We are also very very very busy.  Some nights we feel like crawling (sort of), and when we talk it sounds like babble.  So the entire Gaggle is progressing normally according to our pediatrician.

Speaking of pediatricians, we’ve had a weigh-in:

Sidney – 20lb 2oz (95+%), 27in (90%)

Zoe – 18lb 6.5oz (90-95%), 26.75in (90%)

Yes, they’re big, healthy girls.
